Honeywell Releases Virtual Keypad for Total Connect
New User-Friendly Interface Simplifies Alarm Remote Control and System Management
MELVILLE, N.Y., March 24, 2009 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the release of My Keypad, a virtual user interface that works just like an actual keypad—letting end-users access and operate their security systems from any remote location on cell phones, PDAs and BlackBerry™ handheld communication devices. My Keypad is part of Honeywell’s popular Total Connect suite of digital communications services.
“My Keypad is ideal for today’s busy consumer because it gives them the ability to manage and control their security systems via a simple, user-friendly interface on mobile devices they use each and every day, wherever they are,” said Gordon Hope, General Manager for Honeywell AlarmNet. “It’s a unique, valuable feature and natural extension of the Total Connect umbrella of services. It’s also a great way to help our dealers retain existing accounts, boost recurring revenue and win new business.”
My Keypad is available to all Total Connect subscribers. Once end-users enter a passcode on the secure Honeywell AlarmNet Web site, they can quickly and easily arm, disarm, silence and check the status of their security systems. They can also bypass doors for unscheduled maintenance or service, turn lights on and off remotely and control garage and warehouse doors.
